What I Learned from My Dad

These are the biggies I learned from my dad, tenants I lived by for far too long:

  1. Fear authority figures
  2. Avoid challenging authority figures
  3. Be prepared and accepting of punishment if opting to question authority figures
  4. Take punishment without resistance
  5. Your place is to be seen and not heard
  6. You can do without if it means someone else gets the thing you wanted or worked for
  7. Work before pleasure
  8. And as I grew into puberty and young adulthood: you are evil. His words. Not mine.
